In 2007, the Urban League added to its portfolio a new WIC Clinic in Clark County. The Urban League was given complete autonomy by the State to locate a site, develop a space plan, build physical and operationalwic infrastructure, including technology and outreach plans, create job descriptions, define staffing/schedules, and recruit staff. The Urban League has successfully administered the WIC program from inception and met or exceeded all program requirements. The Urban League’s WIC Clinic is the state’s “model program” for high-performing facilities safeguarding the health and wellness of more than 3,500 low-income women, infants and children each month. As a result, the Urban League is slated to open a second clinic in 2009.
