The Las Vegas Urban League (LVUL) and City of Las Vegas Celebrated the Grand Opening of Nevada Public Computer Centers, operated in partnership with the Southern Nevada Housing Authority and other local partners. In 2009, the LVUL, a nonprofit anti-poverty organization, was awarded a $4.7 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Broadband Technologies Opportunity Program (BTOP) grant to create 29 Public Computer Centers (PCC). The Las Vegas Clark County Urban League (Las Vegas Urban League) is currently soliciting proposals until Friday, October 8, 2010 from qualified individuals/ firms, experienced in assessing Community Action Agencies’ Board structure and operations and to provide recommendations for addressing any identified areas of improvement. The Las Vegas Urban League (LVCCUL) today unveiled a new, multi-layered outreach initiative. The effort is designed to educate and create awareness of the programs offered to serve children, senior citizens and families in need.

Las Vegas – Clark County Urban League (LVCCUL) has named Morse Arberry, Jr. Interim President and CEO. The non-profit organization also announced that a nationwide search would commence to identify a permanent President and CEO. It is anticipated that the search could take two months.
