Las Vegas – Clark County Urban League Names Morse Arberry, Jr.
Interim President and CEO

LAS VEGAS – April 23, 2009 – Las Vegas – Clark County Urban League (LVCCUL) has named Morse Arberry, Jr. Interim President and CEO. The non-profit organization also announced that a nationwide search would commence to identify a permanent President and CEO. It is anticipated that the search could take two months.

“Morse Arberry offers over 20 years of proven public service experience. Our organization and the community will benefit from his significant leadership and business relationships,’’ said Steven Brooks, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LVCCUL.

Arberry has been a member of the Nevada Assembly since 1985 and has served as Chairman of Ways and Means for 14 years. Additionally, he chaired the Interim Finance Committee (IFC) for several years. In addition to his extensive legislative experience, Mr. Arberry is very accomplished in business as well. He currently serves as President and CEO of Las Vegas based Canyon Lake Mortgage Inc, a full service mortgage brokerage.

Prior to and during his endeavors in the mortgage industries, Arberry served the people of Las Vegas in a variety of roles in the Neighborhood Services Department, which partners with residents to improve the quality of life in Las Vegas. He has worked with the Department for over 25 years, most recently as Deputy Director. Prior to his role as Deputy Director, Arberry worked as an Administrator, Building Plans Manager and Engineer for the Public Works Department.

Arberry received an Associate Arts from Central Arizona College, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Northern Arizona University and has earned hours towards an M.B.A. from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
