Allow me to take you all the way back to the beginning, back to 1910, when brave men and women risked their lives to sit together with nothing but a dream of equal opportunity. From those tentative steps a history of advocacy, race relations, technical assistance, research, programs and services emerged.

Many people wonder how we do so much for so many. We clarify that we do for one: One individual, One family, One community. That is why this is your Las Vegas Urban League. To address the individual, family, and community needs, we must look at the whole. I take great pleasure in being part of the Urban League Movement, and I rely on that history to write a new chapter, to share a dream, to inspire growth and self sufficiency.

Our work is great, and our challenges are real. To that I say, the staff, supporters, volunteers, and partners are committed. So thank you once again to all of the resources that collectively impact the lives of thousands in our community. This impact has both a significant and a lasting effect as we address the communities’ social and economic needs. Join with us as we transition from good to great.
